Michael Hochenrieder

Michael is an independent Platinum CSIP / FAA & EASA Flight Instructor, EASA Flight Examiner for Single Engine Piston (SEP), Single Engine Turbine (SET) & Multi Engine (MEP) aircraft, and Language Proficiency Examiner (up to Level 6) from Rosenheim.

He instructs in southern Germany (Greater Munich area, e.g., Augsburg, Landshut, Oberschleißheim, Straubing, Eggenfelden) and Austria (e.g., Salzburg, Zell am See, Innsbruck, Linz, St. Johann) as an independent flight instructor and flight examiner, as well as a freelancer for various flight schools (ATOs).

From his base in Salzburg, he primarily teaches mountain flying.

For COPA University, he presents various flight safety workshops throughout Europe and the US as a CPPP Flight & Ground Instructor, focusing on automation management/TAA (Technical Advanced Aircraft) and instrument flight procedures with Cirrus Perspective/Perspective Touch+.

In January 2022, Michael was honored with the Partner Award „International Cirrus Instructor of the Year - Export“ by Cirrus Aircraft.

In addition to his activities in the field of fixed-wing aircraft (airplanes), he also conducts training and continuing education courses as a helicopter instructor (EASA & FAA Helicopter/Rotorcraft Instructor and FAA Helicopter Instrument Instructor) as well as flight reviews and instrument proficiency checks on helicopters (e.g., Robinson R22, R44, Cabri G2, or Bell 407 and 505). Through the partner school Heli Austria Flight Academy, he also teaches according to EASA regulations.

As a subject matter expert, he supports aviation accident investigation boards in the investigation and analysis of aviation accidents, particularly those involving Cirrus Aircraft, Robinson, and Bell Helicopter.
